Friends of ANTIQUE GLOBES
Purpose of this website
This platform is in the first place a catalogue of the collection of globes and the literature about globes that I possess, which I hope will increase in time. I also want to create a platform for people interested in antique globes to start a network of communication and ultimately continue the work that Stevenson started in his famous book from 1921 “Terrestrial and Celestial Globes”, which is still currently the major standard work for any antique globe friend. It was Stevenson’s intention to create a world wide overview of the available globes and provide descriptions about their condition and their producer. I would like to continue this work and I hope that I will get the support of everybody interested in globes to sent me info about the globes they possess.
I also give free advice about antique globes, like age, globe producers,….
The website is still in the early stages of its existence and will grow in time together with your help.
